Garvin began his food manufacturing career while completing his Bachelor in Biomedical Sciences at York University as a Quality Control Technician at Olde York Potato Chips. Cross trained in all operational departments shipping, warehousing, production and maintenance until his degree was completed where he then took on the GFSI program for the company.
Later Garvin moved over to Italpasta Limited as the Food Safety Coordinator where he continued to maintain the food safety program. In 2016, he was given the opportunity to lead the Quality Assurance Department where he oversees Quality Assurance, Food safety, regulatory affairs, product development and continuous improvement.
In 2017 Garvin began working with Taste your future as a way to give back to the community by helping guide students interested in the food industry. In 2019, Garvin completed a six sigma black belt program.
